Description

A rectifier is a device used to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). While the rectifier is part of chargers, it is also used as an independent device in industries such as electroplating, welding, and metal melting furnaces. The input voltage of the rectifiers is usually city electricity and their output is according to need. In metal smelting plants and railways, as the most users of rectifiers, output voltages between 40 and 50 V are common. The output current of industrial rectifiers is usually high; e.g. the currents 1600 and 2000 amperes are common in this field.

At high currents, cooling the rectifier is a problem; and to solve it, the “water cooling” system is usual.
