Message from the Chairman of the Board of Directors

Taliran Engineering Company

The life cycle of organizations, aren’t unlike to human life as usual. Childhood, teenage, youth, middle age, and … But there is a difference anyway; there is not a gene for eternal life or in an optimistic look, isn’t discovered such a gene for human as yet. But for organization we have it. What are the secrets of organizations durability? Knowing its competitive advantages, knowing the requirements of time, and having passion perseverance for achieving the excellent and transcendent aims are these secrets. An organization which navigates such a manner definitely reaches and never reaches to its goals!  Since it doesn’t convince to its achievements and will remark new goals for itself again and again.

But according to us, growth could not be an unconditional aim. Therefore, the development which is combined with social commitment and morality is the only destination that we have to follow for reaching it. In this case many things such as quality improvement and customer satisfaction will come automatically.

Sometime Milton Friedman, the famous economist and winner of 1976 Noble prize, against the theory of social commitment of entrepreneurs, in his book Capitalism and Freedom said “The business of business is business” (1962). He more developed his idea later in the essay “The social responsibility of business is to increase its profits” which was printed in New York Times magazine (Sep.13, 1970). But the world events during following years after such a statements, especially environmental serious damages and the economic depression in initial years of   century was occurred in West; imprint the invalidity to these ideas.

The honor and our wish is that the managers and personnel of TALIRAN follow the excellent and humanistic ideals. In this case TALIRAN not only will be able to well continue its activities in spite of many risks that our industry is facing with, but it will be a good pattern of right mixing of the economic development with social responsibility, humanistic, and moral excellence.
